THE DELIGHTFUL DOMAIN OF DOGS

Today, something strange happened to me in art class. I had forgotten my crayons at home and reached into the school's supply cupboard for a box of crayons. I came across a grubby box of pastel colours and decided to draw an apple. Lo and behold! An apple appeared out of nowhere on my desk! I then decided to draw an imaginary land.

I carefully drew a delightful domain of dogs, since my mother wasn't in favour of me raising a dog. I have always been fascinated by dogs. As I sketched their furry hair and coloured in their chocolaty brown eyes on a sheet of white paper, an enchanting, hypnotizing ring of light appeared out of nowhere and sucked me in...

Numerous lands flashed across before my eyes before we came to a sudden halt. I landed with a THUMP on a fleecy blanket of snow that seemed to cover everything that I could see. As I quivered in the cold, I put on my warm school blazer and wondered why my art hadn’t come to life. I decided to get over my disappointment and explore this breathtaking place. Suddenly, I heard a booming bark pierce the silence of the air… A magnificent Great Pyrenees stood before me. I looked at this majestic creature with my mouth agape. To my astonishment, this dog began to speak to me in a sonorous voice!

He warmly welcomed me to the ‘Domain of Dogs’ and introduced himself as Max, the guide of this marvellous land. Max informed me that we were at the tip of a magical mountain that was enveloped in mist. While we were talking, my tummy rumbled. Max chuckled and led me to a dog-themed restaurant, where mouthwatering food was served on bone-shaped platters. I seemed to be the only human in this land and I felt timid when all the resplendent dogs turned to gape at me. Max introduced me to his canine companions at the restaurant - Shelly the Shiba Inu, Sven the Siberian Husky and Bob, the St. Bernard. The canine chef prepared a special meal of stir-fried vegetables for me while the dogs wolfed down their chicken stew. We then headed to a doggy-themed amusement park called ‘The Pawfect Place’. After enjoying ourselves wholeheartedly on a doggy-go-round and then a Fur-ris wheel, we enjoyed some warm popcorn (named Pupcorn!) Bob then asked me how I happened to arrive at this magical place. I pulled out the crayons from my bag and narrated my fantastic tale! While I was speaking, a crayon rolled out of my bag and lay on the snow. Another dazzling ring of light appeared under the crayon and I got pulled in…

I then found myself lying on the bed in the School Nurse’s office. She almost fainted with relief when I groggily asked her why I was there. She explained that I had been unconscious for the last hour. My heart sank into my boots when I heard that. Had the Domain of Dogs appeared in my dream? I then caught sight of Max’s fur on my backpack and smiled… It had truly been a PAWSOME adventure!
